When you walk into any bedroom the main attraction or focal point is of course the bed. Easily the main centerpiece for the bed is your furniture headboards presence.
While there are several considerations to ponder we will only focus on what we feel are the big picture or core issues.
If your Shopping for your Furniture Headboards by themselves and not part of a larger collection then be sure to have photos of your existing bedroom pieces with you while shop. The reason for this is that you will want to match up your existing pieces with the new ones you are viewing.
If you are shopping online which we highly recommend for the best value and absolutely the best and fastest viewing of a selection then just us a digital camera and input the images into your computer. When shopping just pull the photo up alongside the image of the headboard you’re considering and you will have a great side by side comparison. This truly might be the best way to shop.
Go to several of the best ads you see and decide which online store is best suited to your style. Not one store is going to be all things to all people, so shop around make plenty of comparisons and then decide which headboard you want to go with and if there will be any other pieces you need at the same time. Because once you see a pattern that you really like be sure to get all your pieces that you think you will need at the same time before they change that pattern as they often times do.
The best Furniture headboard resource that use for ourselves can be found at the link below. They have the best prices, selection and value that we have seen. 1. Be Sure to take your bed rail brackets with you. If you are buying only the Furniture Headboards and not the entire bed.
Why? Because it can get really irritating to buy new furniture headboards, make it all the way home and only then find out that the fittings on your rails don’t match the ones on the headboard you just bought. They come off really easy and all you need is one of them, because if it’s the right style for one then it’s the right style for all the fittings. This little tip will save you the massive headache of having to bring the headboard back and having them say “oh, you scratched it” so pay me or some other garbage you don’t want to have to go through.
2. If there are even the slightest little scratches or nicks on your headboard be sure to write them on the invoice and have a salesman sign off on them prior to you leaving with the furniture.
Why? Because this way if for any reason you need to bring it back to return it you will have proof that the scratches were already there and not have to pay for damages. Sure everyone knows you’re not planning on returning the headboard, but what if you have too?
3. Look for discoloration lines and blotchy discolorations on the tips of all the corners or pointy areas. The corners and the pointy areas are where they would have been most likely to chip off the finish or have had to fill in with wood putty or filler. The discolorations may be where they have used filler, stain or wood scratch cover up pencils to conceal the damages.
The longer lines of discoloration may be where the wood is splitting and they filled it in and stained over it.
Either way, you will do well to really know what you’re getting before you take it home.
4. If you purchase a headboard on line and have it shipped to you be sure to view their right of refusal time frame in the paperwork before you make the purchase. Normally you will have 3 days to look the piece over upon receipt but it would serve you well to check on it first.
